Stacking the Shelves - Summer Edition!
Hello guys and welcome to a belated Stacking the Shelves post! I have acquired quite a number of books during the last couple of weeks so, it's high time for me to share them with you! STS is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and is all about sharing the books you're adding to your shelves, might they be physical or virtual!
What books did you add to your shelves this week? Have you read any of the ones featured in this post? If yes, what did you think about them?
*Some Girls Bite, Friday Night Bites & Twice Bitten By Chloe Neill
Publication Date: April 2009
Genres: Urban Fantasy, Paranormal
I read the first six books in the Chicagoland Vampires series years ago and it has always been one of my all time favorites but, I never got around to finishing it. I recently discovered the spin off and the need to reread it arose so, I got my hands on the first three books through Awesome Books and plan on binge reading them during August!
*More Than Words By Mia Sheridan
Publication Date: June 2018
Genres: Contemporary, Romance
I've been eyeing Mia Sheridan's novels for quite some time now and was debating on which one to go for first. I chose her most recent release, which I've already read and reviewed because the premise sounded a bit more appealing to me than her other work. I wasn't in love with it or anything but, I really want to get my hands on Archer's Voice as well because it's the most hyped up novel she has released this far and frankly, I'm quite curious about it!
*All Played Out {Rusk University #3} By Cora Carmack
Publication Date: May 2015
Genres: New Adult, Romance
I picked up this one on a whim because I was looking for something quick and easy to read, in order to take a break from the Fantasy binge I was on a couple of weeks ago! I have already read it and a review is coming soon so, stay tuned!
*A Thousand Perfect Notes By C.G. Drews
Publication Date: June 2018
Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary
I was so excited when PaperFury announced her debut so, I obviously had to get my hands on it! I haven't read it yet but, I do intend on picking it up very soon!
*The Surface Breaks: A Reimagining of the Little Mermaid By Louise O' Neill
Publication Date: May 2018
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy, Retelling
So far, this year has definitely been dedicated to mermaid books and I'm living for it! I've always loved mermaids but, for some reason, there have never been enough books about them and their true nature. I'm not going to lie and say that, my decision to purchase this one - in a Hardcover edition, no less - had to do with the premise and not the cover. So, we could say that this was kind of a cover buy but, I obviously cannot wait to read it!
*Hunting Prince Dracula {Stalking Jack the Ripper #1} By Kerri Maniscalco
Publication Date: September 2017
Genres: Young Adult, Historical Fiction
I have just finished this one and yeah, no words guys! Stalking Jack the Ripper didn't really live up to the hype for me, even though I did really enjoy but this one took my breath away! I cannot wait to get my hands on Escaping from Houdini and read more about Audrey Rose and Thomas! I usually don't post reviews on sequels because it's difficult to avoid spoilers but, I will do my best and write one for Hunting Prince Dracula without giving things away!
*Royal Bastards {Royal Bastards #1} By Andrew Shvarts
Publication Date: May 2017
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy
This has been one of my most anticipated reads for years and years! I have finally gotten my hands on it and I couldn't have been happier! It's actually shorter than I was expecting but, it's okay! I still cannot wait to immerse myself in it!
*Spinning Silver By Naomi Novik
Publication Date: July 10th
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy
I pre-ordered the Hardcover edition of the cover you see above months ago because, I didn't want to end up without it! I'm still crying over the matching edition of Uprooted that I'll probably never manage to get my hands on so, I didn't want to make the same mistake with this one!
*The Beauty of Darkness {The Remnant Chronicles #3} By Mary E. Pearson
Publication Date: August 2016
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy
I'm basically binge reading this series like it's nobody's business because it's extremely good and simply perfect! The last book in the trilogy is huge and I'm more than living for it so, I cannot wait for this amazing journey to end in the best way possible! Mary E. Pearson always delivers so, I have no doubts that I'm going to love this!
*The Mermaid By Christina Henry
Publication Date: June 2018
Genres: Fantasy, Historical Fiction
Alice by Christina Henry is one of my all time favorite novels and I cannot get enough of her writing style! This is a Little Mermaid retelling with a twist and I have just started reading it! It's pure magic and I really can't wait to share my thoughts on it with you! The cover is obviously stunning and it matches the rest beautifully!
*As Dust Dances {Play On #2} By Samantha Young
Publication Date: August 2018
Genres: Romance
It's no secret that whatever Samantha Young writes, I'll read so, I jumped at the chance to participate in the blog tour for her newest release! My review will be up in a little bit more than a week so, stay tuned for it!
*A Room Away From the Wolves By Nova Ren Suma
Publication Date: September 2018
Genres: Young Adult, Magical Realism
I'm actually not the biggest fan of Magical Realism in books because it doesn't really appeal to me but, I was very intrigued by the premise of this one! Make sure to mark your calendars for its release because it truly sounds fascinating!
*Kill the Queen {Crown of Shards #1} By Jennifer Estep
Publication Date: October 2018
Genres: Adult, Fantasy
I literally screamed when I saw that my request for this one had been accepted and I woke up to find the ARC ready for download!!! I haven't mentioned Jennifer Estep in a very long time but, she's one of my all time favorite authors and I love her Mythos Academy and Elemental Assassin series! They're quite underestimated and I cannot recommend them enough!
That was it for today's Stacking the Shelves post! Make sure to let me know what books you've purchased and whether you've read any of the ones I have added to my shelves!
Until the next post,
