Monthly Blog Wrap-Up - May 2017

Hello and welcome to another blog wrap-up! May wasn't the best month for me and I have to apologize for not posting enough! I hosted a lot of book events this month, which isn't a bad thing but, I'm very behind on my discussion, Top Ten Tuesday and review posts. I've been preparing for my exams and trying to adjust to a new job, while writing articles and posting on this blog as well! So, May has been overwhelming to say the least.

Hopefully, I'll be able to schedule the posts that I want to go up during the month of June! Otherwise, you guys just have to keep in mind that I'm not neglecting Book Lady's Reviews and I will get back on posting more discussions and reviews, as soon as exam season is over!

Meanwhile, I sincerely hope that you'll find this post helpful! Make sure to click on the individual posts that interest you and leave your comments telling me how your month went and what books you managed to read!
May was an okay reading month for me considering that I had so much stuff to do! I mostly read review books which is a step in the right direction. Meaning that, I won't request another book until I finally manage to read the ones that I need to read! The good thing is that I immensely enjoyed all of the books I managed to read, which is a very nice surprise considering that, I haven't had such an amazing and quite interesting reading month in a while!
*Letters to the Lost By Brigid Kemmerer
Rating: 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈
Would I recommend it?

Definitely! I cannot even express how much I enjoyed this book! One of the best contemporaries I've read in a while, which is saying a lot! I have a review coming up soon so, stay tuned if you want to hear more thoughts on it!

*Beautifully Broken By Laura Lee
Rating: 🎈🎈🎈🎈
Would I recommend it?

Yes, I would! I really enjoyed Beautifully Broken which, truthfully, I wasn't really expecting. I loved the plot and you will too, especially if you're a sucker for teacher/student romance novels! It was very interesting to see where the story was going and relatively easy to connect and sympathize with the charcaters. My only complain is that, it felt a bit rushed and it ended very abruptly for my liking!

*Violet Grenade By Victoria Scott

Rating: 🎈🎈🎈🎈
Would I recommend it?

This was a very interesting and nice surprise! Violet Grenade is perfect for fans of unique and extraordinary reads! It was weird {in a good way!}, beautifully written and completely unpredictable! Also, the characters are more than fascinating and will definitely blow your mind and make you forget your own name! Yes, I'm utterly serious!
*Shadow & Bone {The Grisha Trilogy #1} By Leigh Bardugo
Rating: 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈
Would I recommend it?

Yes, yes and yes! I loved Shadow & Bone and cannot wait to continue on with the series! I don't even know why didn't pick this one up sooner! It had been sitting on my TBR shelf for ages and I just picked it up on a whim because I was in the mood for fantasy and didn't know what else to go for. So, if you enjoy fantasy novels, you should definitely give this one a go! You won't regret it!

*Blood Bound {Mercy Thompson #2} By Patricia Briggs
Rating: 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈
Would I recommend it?

Of course! Mercy Thompson is one of my favorite series ever and I seriously cannot recommend it enough! I'm in the process of re-reading them, as I've mentioned in previous posts, and I can't get enough! Second time reading this was as enjoyable as the first, if not more! I think I'll never stop falling in love with Mercy Thompson and her world! And I'll probably never stop recommending it to you so, if you haven't read it yet, what are you waiting for?

*Seekers {Riders #2} By Veronica Rossi
Rating: 🎈🎈🎈🎈
Would I recommend it?

If you're a fan of unique plots and different storylines, you'll definitely enjoy Seekers. It was a very interesting read and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would! I feel like it's one of those hit or miss reads, in the sense that, you really have to be in the mood for it. Which, of course, does not mean that it's not worth giving it a try and getting a taste of the magic that is hidden between its pages!

*Black Dawn By Mallory McCartney
Rating: 🎈🎈🎈+
Would I recommend it?

Depends on whether you enjoy love triangles or not. Black Dawn was a nice read, but it took a while for me to get invested in the story and its characters. Also, I felt like the everything revolved around said love triangle, which didn't really sit well with me.

*Shadow & Bone By Leigh Bardugo*
*Seeker By Veronica Rossi*
*Black Dawn By Mallory McCartney*
*Violet Grenade By Victoria Scott*
*Beautifully Broken By Laura Lee*
*It Started With Goodbye By Christina June*

*Freeks By Amanda Hocking*

Freeks is one of my most anticipating reads and I cannot wait to see where the story goes and whether I'll enjoy it as much as I think I will! I've only read the first chapter but, it's very promising and I'm more than excited to finish it and share my thoughts on it!

*Make sure to check out the one and only

post of the month!*
*And, of course, we can't forget about May's
That was it for the month of May! Hope you found this post helpful! Make sure to comment below, telling me whether you've read any of the books mentions and if you enjoyed them or not!

    1. Can't recommend Shadow and Bone enough! It wasn't one of the best fantasy books I've read but it blew my mind! Does that make sense? Because I did not expect it to be so good and enjoyable! It's definitely unlike anything I have read this far!
