Most Anticipated Book Releases - May 2017 Edition {Part 1}

Hello and welcome to May's most anticipated book releases! I hope you find this post helpful and discover new books coming our through it! It's going to be a two part post since, there are a lot of new releases I want to share with you and I couldn't include them all here.

Have you read any of the books mentioned already? Which new releases are you most excited for? Comment below telling me whether you'd be interested in reading any of these!
*Into the Water By Paula Hawkins
Publication Date: May 2nd
Genres: Mystery, Fiction, Thriller

I really want to start reading more Crime/Mystery novels so hopefully, this will motivate me. I've also had my eye on Girl on the Train for a while! Really need to get my hands on it soon.

*One of Us is Lying By Karen M. McManus
Publication Date: May 30th
Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary, Mystery

Five strangers walk into detention and only four of them come out alive. What really happened in that classroom? And who is responsible for them murder? I got goosebumps just from reading the synopsis of this book. I've never read a book similar to this one so, I'm hoping that the experience will blow my mind! When I actually get around to reading it of course!

*Sad Girls By Lang Leav
Publication Date: May 30th
Genres: Young Adult, Poetry, Fiction

This is a debut novel that sounds very unique! Definitely something that I'd personally enjoy! It has been categorized as ''Poetry'' on Goodreads but, I don't know if it's actually written in verse so, that's something I look forward to finding out.
*Dark Breaks the Dawn By Sara B. Larson
Publication Date: May 30th
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

It's been a while since I've read a high fantasy novel so, I'm definitely into this one. From what I can tell, it's supposed to be a re-telling of the Swan Lake or something like that. If that doesn't sound intriguing, I don't know what does!

*Violet Grenade By Victoria Scott
Publication Date: May 16th
Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary

I cannot wait to start reading Violet Grenade which I already own and will be participating in a blog tour for. What intrigued me the most is its unique synopsis. I also just realized that, even though it is categorized as contemporary it sounds more like fantasy. From what I can understand, it is actually a contemporary novel, I just don't know whether there will be any fantasy elements to it. Can't wait to start reading and finally figure it out!

*Flame In the Mist By Renee Ahdieh
Publication Date: May 16th
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

When I realized that, this one is actually a re-telling of Mulan, I couldn't have been more excited. Girl disguises herself as a boy in order to infiltrate a Clan and track down the person who's responsible for her being a target? Yes please!

*It Started With Goodbye By Christina June
 Publication Date: May 9th
Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance

This is a contemporary, modern re-telling of Cinderella which I've already read and immensely enjoyed! Stay tuned for a review and giveaway coming up next week!

*When It's Real By Erin Watt
Publication Date: May 30th
Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary

This sounds like such a fun and entertaining read! A pop-star hires an ordinary girl to play the role of his girlfriend in order to convince the world that, he has settled down. It is kind of a cliche but, one that I always enjoy reading about!

*Girl Out of Water By Laura Silverman
Publication Date: May 2nd
Genders: Young Adult, Contemporary

Another contemporary I'm very excited to read! The synopsis is very fascinating and it makes the story sounds very interesting and moving. Definitely right up my alley! I also wanted to make you aware of the harassment the author is facing from internet trolls because they really don't have anything better to do with their lives. Show your support by adding the book on your TBR!

*Royal Bastards By Andrew Shvarts
Publication Date: May 30th
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

This book has me anticipating its release like a mad woman. It hooked me and it won't let go until I actually buy it, read it and fall in love with it! It's so unlike anything I've read before and I love me some fantasy so, reading it will definitely be a unique and fun experience!

*Beneath A Scarlet Sky By Mark Sullivan
Publication Date: May 1st
Genres: Historical, Fiction

I came across this one on accident and I'm very glad because it sounds truly amazing and inspirational. I'm not really into historical fiction but, I'd definitely be willing to give this one a try!

*All the Lies We Tell By Megan Hart
Publication Date: May 1st
Genres: Contemporary, Romance

Megan Hart is the author of many books, none of which I've actually read. Surprisingly.''But the lies we tell ourselves can’t compete with the truths our hearts refuse to let go…'' This is probably my favorite line from a synopsis ever!

*A Court of Wings and Ruin {A Court of Thorns and Roses #3} By Sarah J. Maas
Publication Date: May 2nd
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

I haven't read A Court of Mist and Fury yet. What does that say about me, really?

*The Dark Prophecy {The Trials of Apollo #2} By Rick Riordan
Publication Date: May 2nd
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

This is the second book in The Trials of Apollo, which I've also had on my TBR for a while but, for some stupid reason never felt motivated enough to pick up! It's been a very long time since I've read me some mythology so, I really need to step up my game!

*Lord Of Shadows {The Dark Artifices #2} By Cassandra Clare
Publication Date: May 23rd
Genres: Young Adult, Paranormal, Fantasy

Probably the most anticipated sequel of all time is finally going to be published in May! Need I say more? Didn't think so!

Hope you found this post helpful! Don't forget to come back for Part 2!

Until then,

    1. I really hope you enjoy One of Us Is Lying when you get around to reading it! It's definitely unlike anything I've read or even heard of before. And I still haven't read ACOMAF but, I'll probably end up binge reading them. I'm so behind on Sara J. Maas books and it's quite ridiculous. I'm so mad at myself and really need to step up my game! :D Thank you so much for stopping by! Make sure to come back for part 2 of May's most anticipated releases!
