STRIPPED (a novel)

College freshman Quinn Montgomery will do anything to avoid the mistake her sister made—killing herself over a boy. But when she is forced into nude modeling at a local college to support her family after a bankruptcy, she begins to crack, just enough to let Torrin, the university’s top varsity oarsman, see that the real Quinn is not as feisty and unapproachable as she wants everyone to think. But letting someone in comes at a steep cost and, it turns out, Torrin is connected to Quinn’s family in more ways than she could ever imagine.

WITHOUT YOU (a novella)

She was broken when I met her, shattered from the death of her sister and running from love. Not to sound like an egotistical douche or anything, but I fixed her. Put her back together, filled in the cracks, and made her whole. A true fairytale in her eyes.

But now real life is getting in the way: school, jobs, and the unexpected opportunity to travel the world under a legendary photographer. This internship will open doors not even my father’s influence could. It’s something I’ve been waiting all my life for. But so is Quinn, and accepting this internship will mean leaving her.

And breaking her all over again.

When I first saw this book and read the description,I was really excited and couldn't wait to read it.I really thought this would be the perfect book for me.Unfortunately,I didn't like it as much as I hoped I would.

The story wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. The writing was great but I found it difficult to connect with the main character. It's really hard for me to like a book when I can't connect with the characters. The plot was okay but I think the book ended too soon.I also wasn't satisfied with the romance in the book.Romance scenes are supposed to be beautifully described and intricate and lovey and all that good stuff. While this book had some,I wasn't completely satisfied.

Moving on to the character development. At the beginning I found Quinn, our main character to be really irritating and frustrating. But what I liked is that throughout the book, she actually developed as a character. But again,I couldn't really connect with her.Yet,I really liked Torrin. He was a great guy and wasn't afraid to call Quinn on her crap. But he did a lot of things for her and I really loved that.

Even though I couldn't connect with the characters and had some issues with the book in general,I really liked the writing and the dialogues flowed without a problem. Both the novel and the novella were easy to read.I really liked the novella and the fact that it was written from Torrin's perspective made it more interesting.I think I enjoyed the novella more than the actual book.

What happened in the past really affected both of the characters' lives and I really appreciated the fact that the characters found love in the end, despite the circumstances and obstacles thrown their way.It also made me realize that whatever tragic and heartbreaking happened in the past, life goes on and we should be thankful for it!
