A terrible mistake haunts college student Olivia Spencer. To escape the past, she travels to the Mediterranean island of Crete, hoping for the courage to start anew.

By the sea, she meets sexy and enigmatic Kai. But there’s more to Kai than meets the eye — and nobody wants to talk about it. The locals shun him, accusing him of magic. Kai, apparently, belongs to the sea, no matter how crazy that sounds.

Kai isn’t free to be with her or live his own life, and this is how he will stay, unless Olivia can break his curse and save him — in doing so atoning for those she failed in the past.

I'll start by saying that one of the main reasons I decided to read this book was because the author is from Greece and Cyprus (not saying that I read books based on where the author is from) and I'm from Cyprus and Greece is like...something like a second home to me.It's also one of my biggest weaknesses if that makes any sense.I love Greece and everything that has to do with it.I've visited Greece a thousand times and it's still not enough.I couldn't resist and had to read Azure. The synopsis was also very intriguing. And it's a NA novel with paranormal elements in it.Couldn't ask for more!

Azure tells the story of a girl named Olivia who goes to Crete with some of her friends to get over a break up and forget some mistakes she made.Kai grew up in America but he was in Crete as well because that was actually his home. He's very mysterious and moody but he has his demons to face as well.Everybody insults him and Olivia wants to find out why.Eventually though,Olivia fall for Kai but will her feelings remain the same when she learns his secret?

Everything about the story revolves around the sea but I'm not gonna talk about the paranormal element because that would be a huge spoiler. That' s what makes you want to read the book in the first place. It's obvious that there are paranormal elements in the book but you can't know what those elements are until you read it!So intriguing!

This book was one of the biggest surprises of the year.New Adult romance mixed with Paranormal was something new for me but it totally worked! The writing was amazing and I was pleased to see that the author used some Greek words as well.Ten or so but it was enough! And I just loved the setting. The island of Crete which I've yet to visit was perfect and the descriptions made the story even more fascinating. The author did an amazing job at keeping the story interesting and it was so easy for me to fall in love with the plot and the characters.

The plot was fast paced and the twists just made you want to keep reading. The poems of course were great and made a difference in a good way. There was so much mystery and I think the book would be an amazing summer read.An island surrounded by the sea...I mean come on.

Azure was an original story with a fascinating and intriguing plot. The book was beautifully written and I enjoyed every single page and every single thing that happened. The ending was more than satisfying and I was so happy for the characters!I highly highly recommend this book!Totally worth it.Can't wait to read more of the books the author wrote! And one of next book will be set in Cyprus which is just so cool! Can't wait to get my hands on it!And it has to do with vampires!!!
