Epic Fail by Claire LaZebnik

Epic Fail is kind of a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice.Considering that Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite classics,I just had to read this book.


Elise moves to another town with her parents and three sisters.She's really bonded with her older sister Julianna.When her sister meets a cute guy named Chase,their first day at school,Elise is kinda expected to hang out with them and with Chase's best friend Derek.Derek's mother is really famous and everybody wants to have something to do with him,because he's the son of two famous actors.It seems that Elise and Derek don't get along especially when Derek acts like a jerk toward Elise and a guy named Webster and who Elise really likes.But things start getting complicated when Webster lies about something and after that,Elise loses her trust in him.And she's right to do so.After some time she learns that Webster used Derek's sister Georgia.That's why Derek dislikes him so much.Then Elise's other sister Layla gets kinda involved with Webster but in the end she understands that she made a mistake.Derek and Elise,after some really romantic moments finally are together and then,in the end everyone is happy...

The book itself was great and it was a fast read.When I started reading it I didn't actually try to connect it with the original Pride and Prejudice story but then I started thinking about it and realized that there were many similar parts.Elise and Julianna's bond.Their mother's obsession with famous people.Derek and Elise disliking each other at first.Chase and Julianna falling for each other like,in day.Then we have Webster.Who wasn't the decent and good and funny guy Elise thought he was.So that kinda sums it up.Some people might have just found it really predictable because of the whole plot being similar to the original one but it was something really different.It was a great read.The only thing I didn't like was the ending.I mean,it could have ended a little less abruptly but....what can you do about it.
