January Blog Wrap-Up & February New Release Giveaway!

Hello guys and welcome to the monthly wrap-up for January! It was a pretty eventful month and even though I didn't really manage to cross off any books from the challenges I said I was going to be participating in, I did read eight books which is definitely more than I had hoped for. With that being said, I'm a bit behind on my reviews and I might start combining Genres, which basically means posting reviews for more than one book at a time. I feel like that will be more effective and less time consuming, since exams aren't over yet and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed

Life has been pretty boring lately but, I've found many things to keep me occupied. Nothing major is going on but, I definitely need to stop buying and requesting books. I'm still going to sign up for events that truly interest me but, no more NetGalley requests until I manage to read the ones that I have already been sent!

Keep reading if you're interested in the books I read and reviewed during January and make sure to enter the Giveaways that are still open! I'm also participating in the February New Release Giveaway at the end of this post, hosted by It Starts at Midnight, to thank you guys for your support and give you the chance to win one of the books coming out during February! You can go check them out in the posts I'll have linked below but, if absolutely none of them interests you - because not all February releases are included - you can choose your own!
*Pretty Dead Girls By Monica Murphy
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁
Would I recommend it?

This one had its flaws but, if you're a fan of Mystery/Thrillers, you'll probably enjoy this one! It was really engaging and even though some parts felt a bit rushed, the development of the story was quite unpredictable and it kept me on edge throughout it! The main character wasn't really my favorite because I did not agree with her way of thinking but, Monica Murphy managed to make me like her by the end of the book!

*Vanishing Girls {Detective Josie Quinn #1} By Lisa Regan
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Would I recommend it?

Definitely! As soon as I started reading this one, I could not put it down, guys! It was amazing! Full of suspense and absolutely unpredictable, it really made me hungry for more! It cannot wait for the sequel and if you guys have any Mystery/Crime/Thriller recommendations, make sure to leave them in the comments!

*Robin Hood's Dawn {The Robin Hood Trilogy #1} By Olivia Longueville and J.C. Plummer
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁🍁
Would I recommend it?

If you're a fan of Historical Fiction and enjoy re-tellings, I cannot recommend this one enough! I'm a huge fan of Robin Hood and this one took me by surprise! It transported me to a different era with its writing and the character development was more than impressive!

*Children of Blood and Bone {Legacy of Orisha #1} By Tomi Adeyemi
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Would I recommend it?

I cannot begin to tell you guys, how much I loved this book! It was truly revolutionary and probably the best book I've read in years! I could not believe that it was actually a debut and I actually requested it on a whim! I've never been more grateful for being sent a review copy! I'm going to review this closer to its release date but, just know that I loved it!
*The Art of Us By Hilaria Alexander
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁
Would I recommend it?

The pace of this one was a bit slow for my liking and it took me a while to get into it but, overall, I liked it. I couldn't really relate to the main character but, I enjoyed the love interest and how things progressed. The plot itself had more depth than I originally thought and the character development was definitely there. If you enjoy romance driven novels, you'll end up enjoying The Art of Us!

*Our Chemical Hearts By Krystal Sutherland
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Would I recommend it?

I knew I would love this one even before I started reading it and, if you're a fan of Young Adult Contemporaries, you'll definitely love it too! I don't think I've ever read one told from a boy's perspective, which was a refreshing experience and the writing itself was wonderful! Review of this one will be posted sometime in the next couple of weeks!

*Love in the Afternoon {The Hathaways #5} By Lisa Klaypas
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁🍁
Would I recommend it?

Yes! I really enjoy Historical Romance and before picking up this one, it'd been a while since I had read any! It was very entertaining and easy to read, which is always a plus! I've been wanting to read one of the authors novels for a while so, crossing her off my list of never-read-before-authors and definitely picking up more of her books in the future!

*Maybe Never By Sadie Allen
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁
Would I recommend it?

I do! This is more of a 3.5 star rating and I might change it when I write my review because I haven't made up my mind on it yet. But, it was a really heartbreaking and fast paced read, I loved its characters and definitely enjoyed the unexpectedness of it!
*His Outback Nanny {Prickle Creek #3} By Annie Seaton
*Clutch By C.M. West
*The Perfect Duchess {The Macalisters #2} By Erica Taylor
*The Art of Us By Hilaria Alexander
*Robin Hood's Dawn {The Robin Hood Trilogy #1} By Olivia Longueville & J.C. Plummer
*Vanishing Girls {Detective Josie Quinn #1} By Lisa Regan
*Pretty Dead Girls By Monica Murphy

  7. I loved Our Chemical Hearts! Happy you liked it too. I am trying to control myself more with requesting DRCs, but I really want to read all the books. I am doing a 50/50 split with ARCs and my/library books, and so far, I have resisted requesting any more for my "full" months.
