In which a teenage girl endures the over-protective love of her adoptive mother until she falls for a boy who has her wanting to spread her wings, pitched as a contemporary retelling of RAPUNZEL.

Seventeen-year-old Anya leads a very secluded life in a house on the edge of town with her adopted mother. She doesn't go to school, but instead has a private tutor. Her over-protective mom keeps her so sheltered that she doesn't even have a best friend.

But Anya doesn't seem to mind. She has her books, her photography, and her daydreams, and would do anything to please her mom. Until one day at the library, the only place she's allowed to go, she takes a picture of a beautiful boy.

Before long she's lying to her mom, and sneaking out late at night to meet Zander. But Zander wants more than a secret romance. If Anya wants to be with the boy of her dreams, she will have to risk her relationship with the only other person she's ever cared about.

Review

Don't Fall tells the story of Any.She's incredibly naive - not it a bad way - cute, caring, sweet, lovely and adorable...Yes...she totally is.But she's not strong-willed which is pretty obvious from the beginning since she can't stand up to her mother and demand freedom. But throughout the book, she becomes stronger and determined to start living life and stop being locked in a house without being allowed to go anywhere.Which is quite ridiculous if you ask me.

She meets Zander at the library, which is super unexpected and sweet.Zander was an incredibly likeable character, completely devoted to Anya and willing to wait for her.I loved their relationship and how loyal they were to each other. They were perfect together and they fought for each other. Thanks to Zander,Anya finds herself and blossoms into a wonderful, amazing and new person.

I personally think that this wasn't exactly a retelling of Rapunzel, more like a story inspired by the fairytale.I can't say that I liked Anya's mother because I didn't.I can't even completely understand her behavior towards her daughter.I do respect the fact that she wanted her daughter to be safe and wanted to protect her but...that was too much.It was absurd, overwhelming and ridiculous. And I was more that ecstatic when Anya finally stood up to her mother and said enough.

The plot was so unique and different from anything I've read before. It was so quick, enjoyable and fast pace.I read it it less that a day and I seriously couldn't stop! The only thing that kinda disappointed me was the fact that it was really short and I seriously couldn't get enough.I would have loved it if there were more pages or if more things had happened. There was character development and Anya and Zander found themselves in the process! There was also a deeper meaning of self discovery which I loved! The writing was great and the story flowed like a river...!?

Overall this was a more than enjoyable, cute and sweet-when I say cute and sweet I mean more than cute and more than sweet-story with characters that I fell in love with.Highly recommend it if you want to make your life sweeter and go into a magical and fascinating journey of self discovery and discover the meaning of standing up for yourself!
