Sweet Peril By Wendy Higgins {REVIEW}

From Goodreads:

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

Finally found time to write a review for Sweet Peril.And I have many things to say because this book was just awesome!I'm just obsessed with it ad the characters.Especially Anna.

Anna is still the sweet girl we left behind in Sweet Evil,she just has to pretend that she's working so they don't suspect anything.And by they I mean the Dukes.She's strong and she always makes smart decisions,even when it's really hard.Her addiction to drugs makes things more interesting and the contrast is clever and just...brilliant.A sweet girls that can't stay away from alcohol and drugs.

Kaidan seems like the same jerk and heartless person we met in Sweet Evil.But he's not.He loves Anna even though he can't even admit it to himself.He pushes her away by being mean to keep her safe but that can't continue because they realize that they love each other.They're the perfect couple and probably one of my favorites.

And of course,the rest of the characters were amazing and I loved them all but I think Anna is my favorite even though Kaidan is hot and all that...Anna is just one of the strongest characters I've ever read about in a book!

After I finished Sweet Evil,I was a bit disappointed because it wasn't what I expected and I didn't like it as much as I wanted to like it if that makes any sense.I wasn't a big fan of it but after reading Sweet Peril,I'm obsessed.I loved the plot and of course the characters and I was so excited when the new characters were introduced.The end was just....fascinating and I was so nervous to see what would happen.But why did that have to happen?I was so sad and didn't expect it.I'm not gonna talk about it because you guys will be spoiled if you haven't read it but I think people who have read it will be able to understand what I'm talking about.And...for an unknown reason...I'm really angry with Blake because he's an idiot.Sorry but I have to tell the truth.I can't pretend that I like him because I don't...Can't he just confess his love and get it over with?

But anyway...if you have read Sweet Evil and haven't picked up the sequel yet...what are you waiting for?Probably one of the best sequels there is.How can I wait for Sweet Reckoning to come out next year.They're just torturing us!

  1. I'm glad the sequel was great for you. I've heard mixed reviews about the first book so I wasn't sure whether to start the series at all. I think I will now. :)
